SURPRISING GREEN PRODUCTS COME TO LOCAL LEARNING STORE

A local educational materials store in Bellingham, Launching Success Learning Store, now stocks landfill-safe ecologically friendly batteries along with other unusual eco-friendly educational toys. A sign of things to come, the batteries are called Venom Power and contain no mercury, lead or cadmium.

 

Producers of this recyclable battery, Venom Group International, expect certification soon for zero percent carbon footprint in their factory. Venom Power batteries are comparable to all other quality batteries in strength and durability. Its parent company’s main product is remote control aircraft. Launching Success carries some of these remote control products as well.

 

For children into creative house play, Green Toys Company produces play dishes and tea sets made of 100 per cent recycled milk jugs. These items contain no phthalates and no lead paint and meet FDA standards for food contact. Launching Success found these products at a recent educational toy fair and conference in St. Paul, Minnesota and hope to add additional similar products as they become available.

 

Another green toy company based in Palo Alto makes wooden cars, trains, planes, buildings and tracks for young children. Called “Plan Toys”, these toys are small enough for toddler’s hands and can be assembled into a large diarama of an entire neighborhood activity. One such miniature community is on display at Launching Success. Plan Toys is the world’s largest manufacturer of wooden toys made from fast growing, replenishable rubber wood. The drying process in Thailand has little negative environmental impact and paints are water-based natural dyes which do not contain lead or any other heavy metals or toxic chemicals. Its glue is E-zero, non-formaldehyde, non toxic glue.
